Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

This Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course has been specifically designed to help businesses and individuals learn basic first aid skills so that they have the confidence to act in a potentially life-threatening situation. The course uses high quality videos and written guidance to help you recognise emergency situations, treat minor conditions and reactions, and ensure appropriate action is taken at the time of an incident.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
This course is suitable for people aged 16+ who work in low hazard environments, or where the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines indicate staff should hold a certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work.
COURSE CONTENT
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) requires at least six training contact hours for this course. Learners must attend for all six hours to be eligible for assessment, which is done by continuous observation and questioning during the course. The content of this course provides basic lifesaving first aid, covering the following:
- The role of the First Aider.
- Managing an emergency.
- Communication and casualty care.
- Fainting.
- Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations.
- Resuscitation (adult CPR).
- Bleeding (minor and severe).
- Seizures (adult).
- Burns.
- Shock.
- Choking (adult).
- Unresponsive casualty.
- Defibrillator prompts and how to respond.
- Defibrillator pad placement.
ASSESSMENT
Continued assessment process leading to certification of achievement valid for 3 years.
