Risk assessment is at the heart of safety management and if you are an employer or self-employed you must assess the health and safety risks arising from work activities

A risk assessment is simply a careful examination of what, in your work, could cause harm to people, so that you can weigh up whether you have enough precautions or whether you should do more.

A safety method statement describes in a logical sequence exactly how a job is to be carried out in a safe manner and without risks to health. It includes all the risks identified in the risk assessment and the measures needed to control those risks. This allows the job to be properly planned and resourced.

This course is aimed at those responsible for undertaking RAMS It will discuss the purpose of RAMS and provide candidates with a practical understanding of how to conduct and record Risk Assessments & Method Statements under the Health & Safety at Work (NI) Order 1978.
